JCB Athletics is the director of the 2016 Women In Training 5k training group for the Albuquerque Road Runners.
The Albuquerque Road Runners Women-In-Training Program is a 5k training program for women at all levels of running ability. Sponsored by the Albuquerque Road Runners, women of all ages, experiences and abilities are invited to participate in the program, from walkers completing their first 5K to intermediate and advanced runners. The program will be timed to prepare runners for the Albuquerque Road Runner’s Women’s Distance Festival 5k race on July 17th (race entry not included in the fee).
The participants will meet for group runs /run walk training events. The program will include clinics with guest speakers knowledgeable on running-related subjects, and hosted get-togethers. Mentors from the Albuquerque Road Runners will lead a variety of warm-up and running exercises at each training session.
Optional group runs will be held three times a week starting May 9th during the 10 week training program. All Women In Training participants will receive a 5k training plan, guidance from a mentor, access to running clinics and information sessions, a Women In Training tech shirt, and an invitation to the Women In Training Celebration after the training program is complete. Whether it’s your first 5k or one of many, this program is a great way to make some new friends and get to know Albuquerque’s running community.
